You'd think that Saturday Night Live would show signs of slowing down as it heads into its 39th season, but with Miley Cyrus hosting and performing on October 5, it's clear that that Emmy-lauded variety program can’t stop — no, they won’t stop.
According to NBC, Miley will pull double-duty as host and musical guest on SNL, perfecting her comedic chops in sketches and performing hit singles "We Can't Stop" and "Wrecking Ball." Both of those songs hail from her forthcoming album, Bangerz, which will drop one day earlier, on Oct. 4.
But the Party Queen doesn't get the coveted season premiere slot — Tina Fey returns to Studio 8H on Sept. 28, coming back to the show that made her a household name even before 30 Rock. Arcade Fire will take the stage for that episode.
Then, on Oct. 12, in the episode following Miley's, Bruce Willis will host the show for the second time, and another pop diva will "Roar" onto the stage: the one and only Katy Perry.
Sounds like a great start to the season. Way to make it twerk, SNL.
